Really clean Thunderbird Turbo Coupe - black on red. Based on my limited knowledge it is ‘87-’88? The one cool detail I noticed was the door panel keypad, I didn’t realize Ford started that back in the late ‘80's.

It’s an 87 or 88. If it was a 5-speed it has the intercooled 190-hp 2.3 Lima. If it’s an auto it’s the non-intercooled 145-hp 2.3

I’ll see if I can glance in when I head out later, didn’t check this morning to see if it was auto or not.

Keypad started in 1980, actually.

Also, could the auto not stand up to a whopping 190hp (which is sad)? Or is there another reason the auto didn’t get the intercooler?

I don’t know. The auto was, I believe, the AOD that was in nearly every Ford rear-drive product from 1980ish to the late 90s?
Someone more familiar with Fox bodies can be of more assistance
Actuall I was wrong. Apparently the Auto cars, according to Wikipedia:
. Versions with the 4-speed automatic transmission (new for 1987) were detuned to 150 hp in the interest of transmission durability
.
